Republicans to act on replacement for District 24 House seat on Sept. 29

DEXTER, Maine — District 24 Republicans will vote on a nominee for Frederick Wintle’s seat at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, in the Ridge View Community School cafeteria in Dexter. Wintle, who allegedly pointed a loaded handgun at a man in Waterville in May, recently resigned from his seat. District 24 represents the towns of Athens, Charleston, Dexter, Garland, Harmony and Ripley. The seat will be decided during the Nov. 8 elections.
