LIVERMORE FALLS, Maine — Police are investigating an alleged stabbing that occurred early Saturday in the Depot Street area, Lt. Thomas Gould said.
The incident involved a 23-year-old man who was found wandering in the area of 80 Main St. in Jay, Gould said.
The man reported being jumped and stabbed near the Riverview Pub on Depot Street in Livermore Falls, he said.
The victim told police the incident occurred at 12:45 a.m. Saturday. He was very intoxicated and refused to provide many details other than the location where it occurred, Gould said.
The man was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington by a NorthStar Emergency Medical Services ambulance, he said.
Officers could not pinpoint the exact area where the incident occurred but ruled out any involvement with the establishment or its patrons, Gould said.
Investigating officer Sgt. Steve Allen is hoping to hear from any potential witnesses to this incident. The station number is 897-3424.
