ELLSWORTH, Maine — A Pennsylvania woman suffered a serious leg injury Sunday morning from a fall at Acadia National Park.

The 70-year-old woman, whose name was not available Sunday evening, apparently fell on the rocks at Thunder Hole at around 10 a.m. Park rangers responding to the call found that the woman had a compound fracture to her leg, park dispatcher Leslie Dykes said Sunday.

A rescue crew from Bar Harbor transported the Gordonville, Pa., woman to a local hospital for treatment, Dykes said. No other information was available Sunday evening.

Thunder Hole is a waterfront stop along the Park Loop Road that is popular among tourists.
