Outlook: Sacred Heart is a Division I independent that has allowed eight or more goals 10 times in its 13 games against Maine. Schutt started as a freshman last year. Maine coach Maria Lewis will get a chance to play all of her players over the weekend as she continues to evaluate her personnel as well as her line combinations and defense tandems in preparation for the following weekend’s two-game set at Quinnipiac. Lewis and Sacred Heart coach Tom O’Malley each brought in a healthy group of freshmen and this will be their first exposure to college hockey. The coaches will be relying on some of their freshmen to step in and make an instant impact. The Pioneers really struggled to score goals last season as they were only able to light the goal lamp 58 times. These will be the first two games in the newly-renovated Alfond Arena.
