BANGOR, Maine — A Louisiana woman was arrested early Wednesday morning on a disorderly conduct charge after she reportedly raised a ruckus at her daughter’s home and tried to drive away while intoxicated.
After her arrest, Linda Moore, 56, was taken to Penobscot County Jail. She was released on bail later in the day, Bangor police Sgt. Chip Hodges said, citing a police report.
Hodges said police were called to her daughter’s Stillwater Avenue apartment about 4 a.m.
Moore, who was in Bangor while a family estate was being settled, reportedly had been drinking and got into an argument with her daughter after insisting on watching movies with her granddaughter despite the time, the police report indicated. Moore then allegedly tried to drive away while intoxicated.
When police arrived, they asked Moore to quiet down because she was disturbing the neighborhood. They offered to call a taxi for her but instead Moore continued to yell. Police arrested Moore after she threw a suitcase to the ground and told police, “Just take me away — arrest me.”
