PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — A mother and daughter from Presque Isle have been charged in connection with the assault of a local man on Sept. 17.
The Presque Isle Police Department received a 911 call from a local woman who reported seeing two women show up at a home across from hers on Allen Street and kick the door in. The women reportedly then began assaulting a man there.
Officers Kevin Schumacher and Danielle Levesque were dispatched to investigate.
Around the same time, the 42-year-old male victim called to report that he was just assaulted by two women, identifying them as Mary Kimble, 52, of Presque Isle and her daughter Lacee Crawford, 38, of Presque Isle.
According to the police log, the man said Kimble and Crawford had just left and were headed toward Main Street in a blue Ford pickup truck.
The victim told police he believed the attack was in retaliation for his reporting Crawford recently for a bail violation and that the mother, Kimble, was upset about it. He indicated Kimble had kicked in the door and then both women assaulted him, and said that Kimble broke his nose. He refused medical treatment, according to the police report.
Schumacher found Kimble and placed her under arrest for burglary and assault, with a Superior Court date of Nov. 17. Kimble was able to make bail.
Crawford was summoned for assault and violation of condition of release. She was given a Presque Isle District Court date of Oct. 26.
