TOPSHAM, Maine — Federal grants, gubernatorial appointments and a financial receipts report regarding the Great State of Maine Air Show and Business Aviation Expo are all on the docket for Tuesday afternoon’s meeting of the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority.
The organization, which meets monthly, is responsible for the redevelopment of Brunswick Naval Air Station and the Topsham Navy Annex, two facilities that have been closed by the Pentagon and are in the process of transferring to civilian uses.
MRRA Director Steve Levesque will report on recent grants that have been awarded to the organization and the board will discuss the transfer of more parcels of Navy property. Much of the base facilities already have been turned over, but more are scheduled to change hands this fall.
The MRRA also is due for four new members who have been nominated by Gov. Paul LePage. The nominees, Lois Skillings, John Dorrer, Dan Daggett and John Shattuck, face confirmation hearings with the Maine Senate on Sept. 27.
Tuesday’s MRRA meeting begins at 4 p.m. at Topsham Town Hall. Check the Bangor Daily News this evening for updates.
