SKOWHEGAN, Maine — A Norridgewock man indicted last week in connection with a slaying two years ago in Anson will be arraigned Tuesday, Oct. 4, in Somerset County Superior Court, authorities said Monday.

Robert Nelson, 40, is charged with murder in the shooting death of Everett Cameron on Oct. 31, 2009. Nelson is being held without bail at the Somerset County Jail in Madison.

Nelson also was indicted on a charge of possession of a firearm by a felon, a Class C felony.

Cameron, 60, of Anson was shot to death while sitting in his pickup truck on Town Farm Road a short distance from his house, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said in a news release Friday.

Nelson was a resident of North Anson at the time of the slaying, according to McCausland.

He was convicted Oct. 4, 1994, in Penobscot County Superior Court of burglary of a motor vehicle.

No attorney has yet been appointed to Nelson, and no police affidavits have been filed in court in connection with the case.
