FRENCHVILLE, Maine — State Police say speed and unfamiliarity with the area were factors in a crash that killed a Limestone man on Sunday evening.
John Tweed, 69, was riding with a friend on Airport Road when he lost control of the 2010 machine and it flipped, State Police Sgt. Julie Bergan said Monday.
The sergeant said the riders were using that section of road to get from one trail to another when the accident happened.
Tweed was not wearing a helmet and suffered head trauma. He died at the scene.
His friend was not injured.
