ROCKLAND — At 8 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19, the “doors” will open to the annual Chamber online and live auction, which will take place first on the Internet at www.BiddingforGood.com/PBRCCAuction. There already is a catalog of more than 175 items, valued at more than $36,000. New items are being added daily.

The online auction bidding will run through 9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, with about 100 items heading to a live auction on Friday, Oct. 14, at the Rockland Elks Lodge at 210 Rankin St. At the live event, there will be auction items, cash raffle prizes (six $100 cash raffles), a 50-50 cash raffle, raffle items, cash bar and a concession stand. Bruce and Becky Gamage will be the auctioneer team.

The featured item this year at the auction is a Fisher HT Series snowplow from Fisher Engineering, valued at $5,240. The Fisher HT Series snowplow is engineered for today’s half-ton trucks.

The live auction items will be clearly identified on the website, and absentee bidding will be available for those who cannot attend the live event.

Members of the public also may participate by going to www.BiddingforGood.com/PBRCCAuction. Using software provided by BiddingForGood Inc., an organization with a focus on serving nonprofit organizations, the Chamber will be continuing to assemble a catalog of auction items over the next few weeks.

Items up for bid include business services, artwork, unique experiences, travel, lodging packages, dining, recreational activities, gift baskets, train rides, boat trips, festival tickets, landscaping supplies and much more.

Money raised by the auction will go toward supporting the many community and business initiatives of the Chamber.

Donations are being accepted from now through September — simply log on to the site and click on the “Donate Now” button or call the Chamber with your donation. Users also may contribute to the auction’s success by using the “Tell A Friend” button on the website.
