EMCC men beat UMA for first win of season

AUGUSTA –Erik Peterson, Archie Engstrom and Scott Hatch scored two goals each Monday afternoon as Eastern Maine Community College of Bangor earned an 8-1 men’s soccer victory over the University of Maine-Augusta.

Wook Heo and Adam Rollins had the other goals for the 1-2 Golden Eagles and Jeong Heon Kim had an assist.

Peterson and Ricky Parks combined for 14 saves.

Micah Goetsch scored for 0-4 UMA and Chris White made 13 saves.

Women’s Soccer

U-New England 7, Thomas 0

At Waterville, Kaitlyn Hall scored two goals to power the Nor’easters to victory over the Terriers.

Emily Lodge posted a goal and an assist for the University of New England of Biddeford. Marlie Mochamer, Alice Read, Katie Caron and Alex Wells provided a goal apiece. Sarah Richardson added an assist.

Jess Woodworth made one save on one shot for the 4-0 Nor’easters.

Kate Thibodeau piled up 20 saves on 49 shots for 0-5 Thomas College
