Senior quarterback Deven Romain passed for three touchdowns and rushed for a fourth as John Bapst of Bangor cruised to a 35-16 LTC Class C football victory over Mount View of Thorndike at Cameron Stadium in Bangor on Saturday afternoon.

Romain finished the day completing 11 of 22 passes for 247 yards, his second 200-yard passing game in as many games this season.

Andrew Catlin scored on a 55-yard run on the game’s second play to give John Bapst (2-0) a 7-0 lead, then Romain threw a pair of second-quarter touchdown passes — 28 yards to Jake Moore and 5 yards to Mark Dieuveuil — to give the Crusaders a 21-0 halftime lead.

Romain hit Max Andrews with a touchdown pass 43 seconds into the third quarter, then scored on a 1-yard run to extend the John Bapst lead to 35-0 after Dieuveuil made his fifth-straight extra-point kick.

Mount View (1-1) broke up the shutout bid with a 60-yard drive capped off when quarterback Jay Babin scored on a 6-yard run and then rushed for the two-point conversion with 2:16 left in the third quarter.

Babin added a second 6-yard scoring run and two-point conversion rush for the Mustangs with 5.5 seconds left in the game.
