PORTLAND, Maine — Most of the 15 candidates for Portland mayor are set to attend an evening forum.

The field of candidates blossomed after voters decided to choose their mayor directly for the first time in nearly 90 years.

The Maine League of Young Voters Political Action Committee said Wednesday that at least 13 of the candidates would attend Thursday’s event. The location of the forum was changed to accommodate those who plan to attend.

The candidates include Charles Bragdon, Jill Duson, Nicholas Mavodones, Michael Brennan, John Eder, Markos Miller, Peter Bryant, Hamza Haadoow, Jed Rathband, Ralph Carmona, Jodie Lapchick, Ethan Strimling, Richard Dodge, David Marshall and Christopher Vail.
