PORTLAND, Maine — The Maine Department of Transportation announced Thursday that Interstate 295 resurfacing projects in the Portland area will be suspended during Labor Day weekend, from 6 a.m. Friday until after 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The department announcement notes that some “sub-road work” will take place below the overpasses north of Tukey’s Bridge in Portland, but “this is not expected to affect the traffic flow on the highway itself.”

The department urges motorists to visit mainedot.gov to sign up for email alerts, as well as more information and maps of roadwork.
