SACO, Maine — A pumpkin patch that a boy with cerebral palsy was growing to raise money for charity was destroyed recently.

Andrew Berry and his parents were growing the pumpkins along Buxton Road in Saco. The plan was to sell them and donate the money to several organizations that have helped the boy, who uses a wheelchair.

The pumpkins were taken Sunday night, and the unidentified suspect used a knife to hack apart vines and other pumpkins, according to WMTW.

The boy’s mother, Robin Watts, is welcoming ideas and donated pumpkins. She can be contacted at rwatts123@aol.com.
