Portland police on lookout for robbery suspect

By Ryan McLaughlin, BDN Staff

PORTLAND, Maine — City cops are hunting for a man they say robbed a pharmacy Wednesday morning at the Hannaford supermarket on Riverside Street.

The man had demanded drugs at the pharmacy counter and then fled on foot. Police were called to the scene at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Nobody was injured, and attempts to track the suspect with a K-9 unit were unsuccessful. Police plan to review surveillance tape in hopes of identifying the man.
