Largest cruise ship this year to stop in Portland on Saturday

PORTLAND, Maine — Two cruise ships are paying visits to Portland this week.

City officials say the Independence, a small 98-passenger cruise ship, comes to Portland on Friday.

On Saturday, the Explorer of the Seas will make a port call carrying 3,114 passengers and 1,120 crew members. It is the largest cruise ship to visit Portland this year.
