Easton High School boys soccer team rolls to 5th straight victory

PRESQUE ISLE — Reid Clark scored three goals to lead the Easton High School Bears to their fifth straight victory, a 4-1 verdict over the Ashland Hornets in boys soccer action Tuesday.

Clark scored once in the first half as the 5-1 Bears built a 2-0 lead, then added a pair of unassisted goals after intermission.

Jared Hunter also scored an unassisted goal for Easton, while Cody Tompkins made eight saves on 14 shots in goal for the Bears.

Michael Cook scored for 0-4 Ashland, while Hornets’ goalie J.J. Dozier made seven saves on 11 shots.

Wisdom 3, Hodgdon 1

At St. Agatha, Jake Lizotte scored a pair of goals and assisted on Daniel Coulombe’s goal as Wisdom built a 3-0 lead in the first half and went on to post its second win against three losses.

Chris Ouellette also had an assist for Wisdom and Nathan Oates made 15 saves on 19 shots.

Josh Hudson scored for 2-1 Hodgdon and Erik Ryan made 11 saves on 18 shots.

Madawaska 7, Van Buren 0

At Van Buren, Ian Lee scored three first-half goals to help the Owls improve their record to 4-0.

Sam Cyr, Gregoire Faucher Ethan Wetmore and Aron Thibeault also scored for Madawaska, while Dylan Wetmore had three assists.

Kyle Blanchette saved all five shots he faced for the Owls, while Marc Lajoie made 17 saves on 37 shots for 2-4 Van Buren.

CAHS 3, Washburn 1

At Mars Hill, Brendan York tucked a Mike McClung pass past Washburn goalie Zach Davis with 15:55 remaining to snap a 1-1 tie and give Central Aroostook its win over previously undefeated Washburn.

Spencer Stetson added an insurance goal with 5:46 left, his second goal of the game.

Dan Brewer had an assist and Ross Grass made two saves on nine shots for 2-1-2 Central Aroostook.

Mitch Worcester scored off a Jordan McLaughlin assist for 4-1-1 Washburn and Davis finished with four saves on 17 shots.

GIRLS SOCCER

Washburn 3, CAHS 1

At Mars Hill, Carsyn Koch’s unassisted goal snapped a 1-1 tie with 25 minutes left in regulation and Mackenzie Worcester added an insurance goal with four minutes left as Washburn improved to 6-0.

Mikayla Churchill scored the other Washburn goal off a Koch assist and Rayna Saucier made three saves on five shots.

Vicki MacIntyre scored an unassisted goal to tie it for 1-3-1 Central Aroostook and Paige Garrison made five saves on 13 shots.

Fort Kent 3, Madawaska 1

At Madawaska, Sam Carapellucci scored in the opening minute of the second half and Lauren Doak added another goal five minutes later en route to the victory for the Warriors after a scoreless first half.

Michela Desjardins added a goal with six seconds left to cap the scoring for Fort Kent, now 2-2. She and Alexis Desjardins also each added an assist. Alexa Pelletier made five saves on six shots.

For 1-2-1 Madawaska, Nicole Cyr scored off a penalty kick with 1:42 left in the game and Amanda Nadeau made 12 saves on 17 shots.

JV: Fort Kent 3-0

Easton 3, Ashland 2 (2OT)

At Presque Isle, Maria Cyr tied it with 1:05 left in regulation and assisted on Carla Halvorson’s game-winner 35 seconds into the second overtime as Easton improved to 4-2.

Mindy Desmond assisted on Cyr’s tying goal. Stephanie Hammond had the other Easton goal and Caitlin Monroe made 11 saves on 27 shots.

Marissa Chasse and Anna Paradis scored for 1-3 Ashland and Kayla Cote picked up an assist. Macie Bellanceau made 15 saves on 19 shots.
