ORONO, Maine — It’s back to the books for students at Maine’s universities.

Classes get under way Monday at six of the seven University of Maine System campuses, in Orono, Augusta, Presque Isle, Portland, Machias and Fort Kent. Classes at the University of Maine-Farmington begin on Wednesday.

In all, about 32,000 students are taking classes at the campuses this fall.
