GREENVILLE, Maine — The 13 residents who attended a special town meeting Tuesday approved a land purchase, a zone change and amendments to the library ordinance.

Town officials will now move forward to close a $65,000 land deal with Eric and Jenny Ward for the purchase of 7.64 acres of a 21-acre lot the couple own adjacent to the airport to allow for hangar expansion. The land purchase will be shared by the town, the Federal Aviation Administration and the Maine Department of Transportation.

Town Manager Gary Lamb said the local share of $1,625 is included in this year’s budget.

Residents approved the rezoning of certain lots on the Lily Bay Road from Residential to Village District to allow for home businesses.

The small group of voters also approved amendments to the Shaw Public Library Governance Ordinance that will allow for an expansion of the board; an easement across town property to land owned by Kirby Lee Turner and Judith Ann Turner and the sale of a piece of public works equipment.
