OLD TOWN – Alan "Hogie" W. Hogan, 59, passed away Aug. 15, 2011, surrounded by his loving family at a Bangor hospital. He was born Aug. 15, 1952, in Lauinburg, N.C., son of William C. and Doris Hogan.
Hogie enjoyed fishing and following NASCAR. He worked for Pottles Transportation for more than 20 years as a mechanic. He served as first vice of American Legion Post No. 75, Old Town, and served his country in the U.S. Air Force.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Shannon Hogan of Old Town; children, Tammy Carpenter, Sharon Mantha, Carrie Stevens, William Hogan, Kimberly, Cheryl and Scott Robinson; a sister, Beverly Shepard; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and friend, Marshal Conary Sr. He was predeceased by his father, Williams.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at Milford Cemetery, Milford. The family invites relatives and friends to gather after the service at American Legion Post, Old Town.
