LEBANON, Maine — A drug bust in southern Maine has led to charges for a pair of Lebanon men, according to a press release sent by the Maine Department of Public Safety on Monday afternoon.

Marc Plante, 42, and Peter Provencal, 40, both from Lebanon, which is located in southwestern York county, are charged with trafficking in cocaine.

Plante has a prior conviction of cocaine trafficking and was released from prison last year.

After Plante was released from prison, Maine Drug Enforcement agents learned that Plante had moved to Lebanon and was living with Provencal at a home on Creamery Hill Road. MDEA Supervisor Steve Borst said in the press release that Plante has been under investigation for the last month.

An arrest warrant was issued for both men Friday after agents gathered surveillance and allegedly made purchases of cocaine from both men.

A search warrant also was served at the residence on Creamery Hill Road, and agents seized more than 50 grams of cocaine with a street value of $5,000, along with nearly $4,000 in cash.

Plante is facing a charge of aggravated trafficking of cocaine, and was transferred to York County Jail, where his bail was set at $25,000.

Provencal was charged with trafficking of cocaine, and also was transported to York County Jail, with bail set at $5,000.
