Auditions for ‘Mulan Jr.’ at Waldo Theatre

WALDOBORO, Maine — Auditions for Disney’s “Mulan Jr.” will be held 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, at Waldo Theatre, for students age 9-16. Well-behaved students ages 6-8 can audition but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at every rehearsal.

A prepared monologue is not necessary as auditioners will read from the script. Those auditioning for a lead must come with a prepared song and can bring sheet music, a CD or sing a cappella.

Those auditioning for Mulan must sing “Reflection,” and those auditioning for Shang are asked to sing “I’ll Make a Man Out of You,” although it’s not mandatory.

Anyone who cannot make this audition date but wishes to be in the show, contact Melissa Hearth at info@thewaldo.org to set up an alternate date.

Shows are scheduled for 7 p.m. Oct. 21, 22 and 29, and 2 p.m. Oct. 23 and 30.

Rehearsals begin Sept. 7 and will be held 4:15-6:15 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays and 9:30 a.m.-noon Saturdays. They and all five performances are mandatory.

The cost for scripts and CDs is $20 per actor.
