Fleetwood Mix to perform in Hermon
HERMON, Maine — Fleetwood Mix will perform at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, at the Morgan Hill Event Center in Hermon. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased either at Morgan Hill Event Center in person, or by calling 848-7100. Tickets are limited for this performance. Light snacks and a cash bar will be available throughout the night, as well as a silent auction, raffle and many giveaways.
Fleetwood Mix is a stunning visual and musical recreation of Fleetwood Mac. Each veteran player brings their spirit to re-create, with incredible authenticity, the look and feel of Fleetwood Mac.

Try-athalon to benefit Greenville hospital
GREENVILLE, Maine — A Try-athalon will be held Saturday to benefit the Charles A. Dean Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
Organizer Amanda Graham said registration for the three-pronged event, which combines paddling, biking and running, begins at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Maine Forest Service on Lakeview Street. The race will begin at 9:30 a.m.
The event will consist of 2.5 miles of paddling on Moosehead Lake, 16.2 miles of biking and a 3.1-mile run. The entry fee is $15 for individuals and $30 for a team. Teams must have canoes with two paddlers while individual entrants can use either kayaks or canoes.
There will be race photos and gift certificates from local businesses for winners.

Orrington benefit dinner to aid family after 2008 fire
ORRINGTON, Maine — Neighbors Helping Neighbors, an organization headed by Terry Bladen with members of Lighthouse Church of God and East Orrington Congregational Church, are hosting the York Family Benefit Dinner from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at the East Orrington Congregational Church, 38 Johnson Mill Road in Orrington.
Proceeds from this and other fundraising efforts will be used to help with initial fire cleanup for the family who lost their home to fire in 2008 and have been unable to rebuild.
