Ouellette goal lifts Wisdom boys to win

ST. AGATHA — Chris Ouellette headed home a cross from Shane Chamberland with 15:48 remaining in regulation to snap a 1-1 tie and give Wisdom its win over Ashland in a mutual season-opener.

Dan Coulombe staked Wisdom to a 1-0 lead off a Chamberland pass, but Royce MacDonald’s corner kick glanced in off a Wisdom defender to draw Ashland level in the second half.

Nathan Oakes made eight saves for Wisdom and Jamie Dozier turned aside 14 shots for Ashland.

At St. Agatha, Brooke LaBelle scored four goals and assisted on two as Ashland cruised in a mutual season-opener.

Rachel Gillis had two goals and an assist, Ashley Robinson scored two goals and Kayla Cote produced a goal and four assists. Marissa Chasse had a goal and two assists and Anna Paradis, Ally Beaulier and Lacey Goode each chipped in with a goal and an assist.

Macie Bellanceau and LaBelle combined for eight saves.

Mindy Guerrette made 15 saves for Wisdom and Taylor Hobbs had six.
