SCARBOROUGH, Maine — Police say a Maine man who plunged from a bridge and was hit by a car has died from his injuries.
Authorities say the 52-year-old Enfield man either fell or jumped Wednesday afternoon from an Interstate 295 access road onto U.S. 1 in Scarborough.
Police Detective Sgt. Rick Rouse tells the Portland Press Herald the man was hit by a car, but it was the fall that likely killed him.
The victim’s identity wasn’t immediately released.
