Bangor police announce Dylan concert road closures

By Dawn Gagnon, BDN Staff

BANGOR, Maine — The Police Department has announced a series of road closures and parking changes that will be put into place during Saturday’s Bob Dylan concert on the Bangor Waterfront. The gates open at 5 p.m. for the concert.

Railroad Street and Front Street will be closed at noon to accommodate concertgoers, Sgt. Paul Edwards said Thursday in a news release.

Handicapped parking will be provided along Front Street, he said. All on-street parking spaces from the Sea Dog to Railroad Street will be temporarily posted for handicapped parking. About 20 spaces will be available at that location. Event staff will be on site assisting those in need of handicapped parking.

The large parking lot on Front Street near the boat dock will be closed and used for VIP parking, Edwards said. Boat owners who rent space at the city dock will be provided space to park in this lot.

General parking is available in the Pickering Square parking garage and in parking lots and on-street parking areas downtown. Parts of some residential streets near the concert site have been posted with temporary no-parking signs.
