BANGOR — The School of Robinson Ballet has scheduled pre-season classes to begin the week of Aug. 22, and fall classes on Sept. 7 in Robinson Ballet dance studios at 107 Union St., above the Greyhound Bus Station.

Pre-season classes for age 9 and up include ballet, pointe, jazz and modern.

Registration for fall classes begins by phone on Aug. 29 at 990-3140, and in person 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3. There is no registration fee. Classes include ballet, pointe, partnering, jazz, tap, modern, contemporary, hip-hop and preschool.

Instructors are RBC artistic directors Keith and Maureen Robinson; former RBC dancer Dale Robertson; Stevie Dunham, who holds a bachelor of fine arts in dance and choreography; and Terry Lacy, former dancer with New York City Opera, Radio City Christmas Spectacular and Washington Ballet. Teaching the jazz-modern class will be RBC dancer Caitlyn Davenport.

Wish you could see your favorite Robinson Ballet pieces again? The Studio Series will draw from RBC’s 34 years of choreography to re-create two one-hour evening performances. Audience members can expect to see some of their favorite pieces as well as vintage choreography.

Performed in the Union Street Brick Church at 7 p.m. Oct. 22, the Studio Series will be a place for the audience to mingle while enjoying complimentary fancy desserts and coffee before and after the performance.

Seating is limited. Tickets are $15 each and will be available beginning Sept. 1. Tables for eight also can be reserved. The second half of the series will be held in May, and there will be additional performance opportunities.

Robinson Ballet will hold Studio Series auditions at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26. All dancers are invited to audition. Dancers need to bring pointe shoes and, if chosen, commit to Friday afternoon rehearsals.
