YARMOUTH, Maine — Engineers in Yarmouth are opening up a dam to inspect it and get a sense of what would happen if water flows freely through the area.

The town will also try to open the flow of another dam that’s upstream — the East Elm street dam. But a town engineer told WMTW-TV that would be more difficult.
