GREENVILLE, Maine — A “significant” amount of cash was stolen Saturday from a locked safe in a Greenville home, police said.

Greenville Police Chief Jeff Pomerleau said Tuesday that the doors to the home were unlocked when the entry was made. The safe had been locked but was not damaged in the theft, he said.

Pomerleau would not disclose the amount of money stolen.
