BRADFORD – Alton Jack Hoxie Sr., 85, passed away peacefully Aug. 14, 2011, at home in Bradford, where he was living with his wife, Mary J. Hoxie; son and daughter-in-law. He was born in Orneville Township.

Alton served as a Navy frog man in World War II.

In addition to his wife, Mary, He is survived by his son, Alton J. Hoxie Jr. and his wife, Debra J. Hoxie of Bradford; son, Terry Hoxie and his wife, Theresa Hoxie, of Murphy, N.C.; son, Sid Bubar and his wife, Ava Bubar, of Bradford; son, Paul Orton and his wife, Cynthia Orton, of Hermon; son, Van Hoxie and his wife, Gretta Hoxie, of Thorndike; daughter, Cindy Carter and her boyfriend, David Dechaine of Glenburn; sister, Diana Burton and husband, Sonny Burton, of Milo; brother, Roland Lyford of Milo; his sister, Glenice Blethen of Longview, Texas; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Cathy Hoxie; brother, Donald Lyford; sister, Artis Lyford; and sister, Anita Edgily.

There will not be any services at this time. A private family get-together will be held.
