BANGOR, Maine — Don Hanson, co-owner and director of behavior counseling and training for Green Acres Kennel Shop in Bangor, has been elected chairman of the board of trustees of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, which has its headquarters in Greenville, S.C.
Hanson served two terms on the board from 2002 to 2007, was board vice president in 2005 and 2006, and president in 2007.
The Association of Pet Dog Trainers is the largest organization of dog training and behavior professionals in the world. Founded in 1993, the mission of the 6,000-plus-member organization is “to represent and advance the dog training profession through education and advocacy.” More information about the association is available at www.aptd.com.
Hanson is a certified professional dog trainer, a certified dog behavior consultant, Bach Foundation-registered animal practitioner and therapy dog evaluator.

Champion the Cure Challenge recruiting volunteers
