Madison man accused of biting woman’s cheek

FAIRFIELD, Maine — A Madison man ended up behind bars after police said he bit a woman’s cheek.

Police say they found a woman early Tuesday morning with blood on her shirt and a large bite mark on her cheek, and arrested James Carrol Arcuni, 34, for domestic-violence assault.

Fairfield Police Chief John Emery told the Morning Sentinel that Arcuni initially ignored police officers and was verbally uncooperative.

The woman admitted to punching Arcuni during the assault but was not charged because police said she acted in self-defense.
