SANGERVILLE, Maine — A Sangerville town manager search committee has narrowed the field to four candidates, whose names will be advanced to selectmen this week.
Melissa Randall, chairman of the nine-member committee, said 15 candidates submitted resumes for the job. The resumes were reviewed and ranked and four candidates rose to the top, she said. Those four were interviewed by the committee.
“We had some excellent people with some excellent qualifications,” Randall said. The four finalists are from the local region, she added.
The position became vacant when Michelle Dumoulin resigned in June after months of contentious meetings that focused on the proposed demolition costs of the former elementary school, legal advice, road repairs and an issue with a Corinna town official. Since her departure, Town Clerk Alvina Church has served as the interim town manager.
The starting salary for the new town manager will be $36,000.
