Industrial Park street work may cause delays in Pittsfield

PITTSFIELD, Maine — Motorists in Pittsfield who travel through the town’s Industrial Park are being advised to find an alternative route over the next several days as paving work is done from the road’s main entrance off Somerset Avenue to the railroad tracks.

Work, which starts on Tuesday, will involve paving and reconstructing of the roadway.

Delays are expected in the Industrial Park, which is frequently used as a shortcut between the Interstate 95 interchange with Somerset Avenue and Routes 11 and 100.

The shortcut, which is commonly used by tractor-trailer trucks, bypasses downtown Pittsfield.

Anyone with problems or concerns should contact John Dicks, the public works foreman, at 487-6942.
