A Maine Art Evening on June 28 at the Eric Hopkins Gallery in Rockland for University of Maine Mid Coast Alumni concluded with a drawing for a painting done for the occasion by Hopkins as a fundraiser for book scholarships for midcoast Maine students. The winner was Cathy Daigneault (right) of Rockport. With her (from left) are Midge Grispi and Hopkins of Rockland and Marti Collins of Woolwich. Alumni heard the story of the expanding university art department from department chairwoman Susan Groce of Port Clyde and the thriving University of Maine Museum of Art in Bangor from George Kinghorn, director.
