Camden National Bank supports youth football program

WALDOBORO, Maine — Camden National Bank stepped up to sponsor Medomak Youth Football, a nonprofit organization offering a football program to students in kindergarten through grade eight in the SAD 40 area.

Naomi Miller, president of Medomak Youth Football, said the program is not sponsored by SAD 40 or any of the local recreational centers. She said an outpouring of community support has helped get the program off the ground, and credits Camden National Bank with giving the organization its first donation last winter.

Miller said the organization has been working to launch a youth football program since November and hopes to add a high school club team next fall. So far, more than 100 children have signed up to participate this season, which began Monday, Aug, 8, with the first practice. Games have been scheduled with teams across the area.

Miller may be contacted at nay@tidewater.net or 542-7951 for more information.
