BANGOR, Maine — An intoxicated local man who was yelling at people Thursday night at a downtown bar apparently trying to pick a fight, continued to be disruptive at a second bar and later was arrested after failing to heed police warnings.

Police were called downtown at 11:33 p.m. to deal with Daniel Mitchell, 45, of Bangor, and when they arrived they witnessed Mitchell causing a disturbance at the second bar, Sgt. Garry Higgins said Friday.

Police spoke to Mitchell, who agreed to calm down and leave the bar, but he returned shortly afterward, and that is when he was arrested, the sergeant said.

Mitchell was charged with disorderly conduct and taken to the Penobscot County Jail. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)
