Bangor senior center to hold benefit breakfast


BANGOR, Maine — The Hammond Street Senior Center welcomes the public to a Sunny Summer Breakfast from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at 2 Hammond St. in Bangor. Center volunteers will serve eggs, pancakes, baked beans, fries, bacon, sausage, toast, juice, coffee and tea. The breakfast price is $5 per person and tickets are available in advance or the at door; no reservations required. Dover-Foxcroft homecoming to welcome McDonald’s Eco-Cab

DOVER-FOXCROFT, Maine — The Dover-Foxcroft homecoming to welcome McDonald’s Summer of Cool Eco-Cab and UpTeam Jumping Stilt Performers, 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Aug. 6. Maine Oxy to host charity car show for Camp CaPella

BREWER, Maine — Maine Oxy will host the 4th annual charity car show from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at the Maine Oxy outlet, 131 Robertson Boulevard in Brewer. Classic cars new and old, domestic and imports, will be on display. The show has no admission fee. Food, music, awards and a 50-50 drawing to be held at noon. Family-to-Family Education Program in Bangor

BANGOR, Maine — The National Alliance on Mental Illness, Maine is sponsoring a free Family-to-Family Education Program specifically for families of people diagnosed with mental illness. The first class of the 12-week series is 6-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31. Summer Blood Drive to be held in Skowhegan

SKOWHEGAN, Maine — The annual Red Cross Community Summer Blood Drive sponsored by Skowhegan-Madison Elks Lodge and Notre Dame de Lourdes Daughters of Isabella is set for noon-6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, at T&B Celebration Center. All presenting donors receive a free admission ticket to the Skowhegan State Fair plus a special Red Sox-Red Cross T-shirt. Double red cell donations will also be taken at this drive.
