By Heather Steeves, BDN Staff

CAMDEN, Maine — Police Wednesday were still searching for a man who robbed a Rite Aid pharmacy in downtown Camden and then fled on foot. The man stole pills from the pharmacy, but Camden Police Department won’t say what pills or how many.

The man, who is white, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and 170 pounds with brown hair was wearing grey windbreaker pants with a white stripe when he robbed the shop at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. According to Camden Police Chief Randy Gagne, the man handed a pharmacist a note demanding drugs, which were handed over.

Someone in the store called 911 and several police cars arrived immediately, but could not find the robber.

Camden, Rockport and Rockland police departments are working with Maine State Police, Knox County Sheriff’s Office and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency on the case.
