UMaine Children’s Center will participate in food program

ORONO, Maine — The University of Maine Children’s Center at 113 College Ave. has announced its participation in the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program.

Sebasticook Family Doctors to host open house

NY production company casting call in Orono

ORONO, Maine — An independent New York production company is holding a casting call for area actors ages 15-19 for a film, “Bluebird,” being made this winter in northern Maine.

Auditions will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at Lord Hall at the University of Maine.

Hilltop School announces opening for 2011-2012

BANGOR, Maine — Bangor Hilltop School, a private nonprofit preschool and kindergarten, has openings for the 2011-2012 school year.

The school operates year-round and is open from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. In addition to a full-day academic program, the state-approved kindergarten program offers art, library, computers, gym and music. Weekly tuition includes before- and after-school care as well as morning and afternoon snacks and a hot lunch. Class sizes are kept small, allowing for individualized instruction and one-to-one teaching.

There also are limited openings in the preschool program. The preschool offers a developmentally appropriate program with experienced teachers, field trips, snacks and lunch. Families are free to choose a schedule that fits their needs.
