BANGOR, Maine — The Bangor Daily News is unveiling its new magazine, Marry ME Magazine, on Aug. 1. The magazine, which will be sold on newsstands throughout Maine, will help couples plan their weddings with ease and style, according to its editor.
The average Maine wedding costs $28,000, so couples want to capitalize on making their dollars stretch and they will turn to magazines and the Internet for help, said Marry ME Magazine editor Debra Bell.
“Because today’s couples are tech savvy and very busy, we are providing them with two outlets for wedding planning: print and online,” she said.
Each issue will contain unique articles and images provided by Maine professionals. At www.marrymemagazine.com visitors will enjoy an interactive experience and the ability to
submit images, stories, tips and more. The website will be updated throughout the year, making it Maine’s go-to spot for wedding planning.
Marry ME Magazine contains features including: The groom’s corner, planning checklists, six ways to personalize your wedding, attire and floral trends (for him and her), photographs by Maine wedding photographers, two Maine wedding stories and cellphone apps to help with planning.
“I’m thrilled that our magazine and website will help brides and grooms create a truly unique wedding,” Bell said. “Our magazine focuses on the planning needs of both the bride and the groom. I can’t wait to see what our readers have to say.”
The magazine is available on newsstands and costs $3.99.
