Rotary sponsors blueberry pancake breakfast in Ellsworth

ELLSWORTH, Maine — The Rotary Club of Ellsworth will hold its 49th annual Blueberry Pancake Breakfast from 7 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, in the parking lot of R.F. Jordan & Sons on Water Street.

Entertainment will be provided by the Fletcher’s Landing Philharmonic Orchestra directed by Michael Povich. Tickets are $7 for adults, $4 for children under 12 for the meal of pancakes, syrup, sausage, coffee, orange juice and milk.

Proceeds benefit the Rotary Club’s high school scholarship funds and local charitable organizations. For information, call 667-4626.

Pen Bay Pediatrics returns to former location

ROCKPORT, Maine — Pen Bay Pediatrics will return to its former location at 7 Madelyn Lane, off Route 1 in the Pen Bay Professional Park, on Aug. 1.

Church yard sale planned in Bucksport

BUCKSPORT, Maine — The Elm Street Congregational Church Sunday school will hold a yard sale from noon to 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at the church.

The sale will include books, toys, kids items, wooden ware, glassware, exercise equipment and many other items. Proceeds will help the church’s building fund.

Church public supper scheduled in Bucksport

BUCKSPORT, Maine — The Elm Street Congregational Church will hold a public supper 5-6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at 31 Elm St.

Admission is $7 for adults, $3 for children ages 5-10, no cost for children under 5. The menu will include casseroles, salads, baked beans, barbecue franks, rolls and pies. All are welcome.

Appleton Library schedules book, bake sale

Motorcycle fundraiser to begin in Belfast

BELFAST, Maine — Bowenfest, a motorcycle tour fundraiser named in honor of Bowen’s Tavern co-owner Greg Bowen, who has bone cancer, begins with preregistration at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at Bowen’s Tavern on the corner of Routes 137 and 7.

The 100-mile ride to Newport and back starts at 10 a.m. The event will feature a pig roast, music by Papr Street, and more than 25 items up for auction. The cost is $20 per bike, and nonriders are welcome.

This year’s ride will benefit 10-year-old Brad Jo Pinkerton of Frankfort, who has been diagnosed with leukemia.

Hall descendants reunion, potluck meal in Sangerville

SANGERVILLE, Maine — The descendants of John Taylor Hall and Adell Mancell Hall will hold their 46th family reunion at 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, at Toby and Cynthia Hall’s home at 430 Douty Hill Road.
