Bangor soccer alumnae game to benefit Thompson scholarship

Updated:

BANGOR — The fifth annual Bangor High School girls soccer alumnae game will be held Aug. 19, at the school. The game begins at 6 p.m. with two 30-minute halves featuring the current Bangor girls varsity squad against alumnae of the program.

Admission is free, donations will benefit the Danielle Marie Thompson Scholarship Fund. Concessions will be available and a silent auction also will be held during the game.

The alumnae soccer game was established in memory of Danielle Marie Thompson, a member of the Bangor class of 2003 who died Jan. 3, 2007, as the result of a brief illness while a senior at the University of New Hampshire. Thompson was a four-year member and captain of the Bangor girls soccer squad.

All alumnae wishing to participate in the game are asked to register by Aug. 9. A $20 participant fee will go to the Thompson scholarship fund, and participants will receive a T-shirt. To register, contact Pam Tweedie at 947-7245 or Tweedie321@aol.com.
