Le-Vi Rounders Square Dance Club to hold pie social


HERMON, Maine — The Le-Vi Rounders Square Dance Club of Hermon held its annual meeting and picnic recently with club president Bob Brown officiating the election of vice president Donna Wood and treasurer Cindy Fairfield, plus volunteers being accepted for three vacant positions.

On adjournment there was discussion about the square dance season and new beginners lessons slated to start with a pie social 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, at the Penobscot Job Corps Academy, 1375 Union St. in Bangor.

The club has members in Bangor, Hermon, Eddington, Bradford, Greenbush, Howland, East Millinocket, Houlton and throughout Greater Bangor.

Portland author to read from novel at Bangor library

BANGOR, Maine — Author Spencer Seidel, formerly of Portland, will read from his debut novel, “Dead of Wynter,” at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, at the Bangor Public Library.

This mystery is set in the cold of a Maine winter as Alice Wynter deals with her father’s murder and the family’s dark secrets.
