HERMON, Maine — The town and Pine Tree Waste Services have teamed up to offer a voluntary single-stream recycling program for the community.

Residents now may drop their recyclable materials off at the back of the town office parking lot without sorting them first.

Town officials say the recycling program will result in economic and environmental benefits. Economically, residents will reduce the amount of waste being taken to the landfill. Environmentally, the town will contribute to the larger global effort to create cleaner air, water and communities for all to enjoy.

A complete list of recyclable materials being accepted through the program can be found on Hermon’s website at www.hermon.net.
