King-Mitchell Post 7529 to hold inaugural powwow

ISLAND FALLS, Maine — The King-Mitchell Post 7529 is holding its inaugural powwow at 10 a.m. Saturday-Sunday, Aug. 6-7, in Island Falls. Gates open at 10 a.m. each day, with the grand entry at noon.

Proceeds for this event go to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7529 and Shriners Children’s Hospitals. The public is invited. In addition to the powwow, the King-Mitchell Post will also hold its annual chicken barbecue on Sunday. This year’s theme is “We honor all.”

All local tribes and other posts are encouraged to send representatives to the event. For information, call 365-6666.
