It’s ‘Hamlet’ under the stars

BREWER — In one of the greatest tragedies in all of English literature, the ghost of his father visits the young prince Hamlet of Denmark. The former king’s spirit reveals that he was murdered by his brother, Claudius, who has since married the king’s widow, Hamlet’s mother, Gertrude, and taken the throne of Denmark. Hamlet agonizes over what course of action he is to take after the ghost visits him. Should Hamlet kill Claudius to avenge his father?

Often interpreted as the story of a young man for whom hesitation is a “fatal flaw,” Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” has far more complexities to discover. Ten Bucks Theatre invites patrons to attend Shakespeare Under the Stars, directed by Julie Arnold Lisnet, at:
