Police recover rifles stolen from Stockholm American Legion

Eight ceremonial rifles stolen from the American Legion Post in Stockholm have been recovered by Maine State Police Troopers Shawn Whalen and Dan Deschaine, state police said Friday evening.

Steven Selander, 20, Daniel Ouellette, 18, Daniel Ferranti, 21, and one 17-year-old boy, all of Caribou, were charged Wednesday in connection with the incident, in which police said extensive damage was caused to the interior of the building and a large amount of alcohol was stolen in addition to the rifles. All four face charges of burglary, theft, theft of firearms and criminal mischief.

Maine State Police extended its thanks to the public Friday for assistance in the case.
