Showcase League to hold tryouts

PORTLAND, Maine — The Showcase League, a wood bat fall baseball league for high school level prospective college athletes, will hold a tryout at 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, at Hadlock Field in Portland.

St. Joseph’s College to hold open house

STANDISH, Maine — Saint Joseph’s College of Maine will host “Summer Day,” an open house for prospective high school students and families, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, at the lakeside campus in southern Maine.

The day will feature a campus tour, lunch and information sessions on admissions, financial aid, student life and academics.

Saint Joseph’s, a liberal arts college founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1912, offers more than 30 majors and programs at its campus in Standish. For information, call 800-338-7057.
